Amenify, the leading resident commerce platform connecting renters, home services, and merchants, today announced the beta launch of card-linked rewards, allowing eligible residents to connect their existing credit or debit cards to begin earning up to 5.0% back on local spend, on top of their card’s existing reward programs, without applying for a new card, changing how they pay, or uploading receipts.

How renters can earn rewards on everyday spending, on top of their existing rewards, with Amenify
Amenify has opened the beta to thousands of users across the U.S. with plans to expand the experience to 20M residents across its broader property-partner audience in the coming quarters. The launch builds on Amenify and Visa’s recently announced partnership to build an intelligent resident commerce.
How it Works
- Residents opt-in to connect the credit or debit cards they already use to the Amenify platform, powered by Amenify’s new bank and account integration (testing with Plaid now)
- Discover eligible local and online merchants (e.g., gas and grocery) through Shop Local
- Pay using the linked card as they normally would
- Earn Shop Local Credits automatically on qualifying purchases
- Use credits on the Shop Local platform towards local and online integrated merchants including local food, grocery, home services, and e-commerce goods for the home
The program is designed to support eligible credit and debit cards from any major network, cards issued by any financial organization (banks, debit providers, fintechs, etc.), allowing Amenify to deliver a card-agnostic experience, where residents can link their top-of-wallet card.
Beyond rewards, the Amenify app’s map feature surfaces nearby participating locations, publishes current fuel pricing in the resident’s area, and offers ordering services for pickup or delivery. The experience is paired with 24/7 support from Amenify’s AI concierge and human care team.
Why Groceries and Gas?
Amenify built the program around spending data rather than survey sentiment. American households spend roughly $2.8 trillion a year on everyday categories; groceries and fuel alone account for approximately 62% of that total (more than dining, delivery, rideshare, coffee, and health and beauty combined).
“We didn’t ask residents what they wanted; we looked at consumer spending data to see where most households spend their money,” said Everett Lynn, Founder and CEO of Amenify. “A large amount of this spend happens at the pump and the grocery store. So that’s where we started. A resident links their top-of-wallet card, buys gas and the groceries they were going to buy anyway, and up to 5% comes back to them. There’s no new card, no points to hoard, and nothing to redeem three years from now. The value goes back into the household immediately.”
Because Shop Local Credits are issued by Amenify rather than by the card issuer, residents continue to earn whatever cash back or points their own card already pays, making the Amenify credit additive.
Building an Attributable Resident-Commerce Channel
For merchants, Amenify’s card-linked infrastructure is intended to provide an attributable way to reach residents through the home and maintain engagement through personalized offers, app notifications, email, SMS, geolocation and retargeting. Amenify’s property partnerships give the platform the potential to bring relevant offers to millions of homes while connecting campaigns to eligible purchase activity.
“Card linking is the cleanest attribution model in commerce,” said Danish Chopra, Co-founder and CTO/COO of Amenify. “The resident changes nothing about how they pay. There’s no coupon to clip, no receipt to scan, and no separate checkout. And on the other side, a merchant gets a verified, closed-loop record of what a reward actually drove, not a modeled estimate.”
The card-linking beta is part of a broader Shop Local roadmap that looks to extend into new categories over time. Availability, reward rates and eligible merchants may vary by user, geography and offer.
Amenify’s property partner network, permission-based resident relationships, and card-linked measurements combine to offer a channel unique in both breadth and depth of scale.
