New investors join Draper Associates and Boost VC as the company moves its lead cell therapy toward human trials and develops its second-generation injectable
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — HexemBio, the rapidly advancing longevity company, today announced a three-generation product line built on its synthetic biology platform, supported by $15.5 million in total funding. Three new investors have joined the company’s backers including Happiness Capital, alongside additional capital from lead investor Draper Associates and Boost VC.
HexemBio’s first generation lead program is a cell therapy that rejuvenates a patient’s own blood stem cells rather than replacing or reprogramming them. The company’s Synthetic Human Yolk Sac recreates the developmental environment where the body’s first blood stem cells arise. A patient’s aged cells are briefly returned to that environment outside the body, then infused back. The platform was published in Nature, with additional manuscripts under review. HexemBio has filed 17 patent applications worldwide, two of which have been granted.
The first generation cell therapy program targets bone marrow transplant improvement in patients with blood disease. HexemBio received Orphan Drug Designation for the program in July 2025, completed its Pre-IND meeting in January 2026, and is targeting first-in-human trials in 2027.
The second generation is an injectable that carries defined signals from the same developmental environment without requiring cells to be collected. It is being developed for patients who would benefit from restored stem cell function outside the transplant setting. The program is currently in advanced preclinical development.
A third generation product to enhance and protect skin is currently in its final phase of development with an aggressive go-to-market strategy.
