USBP Introduces the Market’s First-of-its-Kind Window and Door System Tested to Provide Protection from Tornadoes, Hurricanes and High-Power Rifles

HOUSTON, Sept. 14, 2026
HOUSTON, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — United States Bullet Proofing (USBP), a leading manufacturer of high-security fenestration systems, has introduced the first window and door system designed to meet the latest standards for multi-threat protection. including tornado and hurricane protection (ICC 500-2023 and FEMA P-361-2024), as well as UL752 ballistic protection against high-powered rifles.
Designed for installation in the exterior envelope of ICC 500-compliant storm shelters, the USAW 650 FEMA Window and USAD FEMA Door system combine severe-weather protection with ballistic resistance in a single, integrated fenestration assembly. The system is tested with a 15-pound missile impact at 100 mph, simulating the impact forces associated with wind speeds of up to 250 mph, and have been tested to withstand the extreme pressures generated by tornadoes and hurricanes. The frame and glazing also meet the UL752 Level 5 standard under the 11th and 12th Edition, providing protection against a 7.62mm full metal jacket NATO round.
“We’re proud to introduce the market’s first system of its kind, rigorously tested to the latest industry standards and requirements, setting a new benchmark for multi-threat protection,” said Hector Vallejo, Chief Revenue Officer for Specialty Fenestration Group. “This new system gives architects and facility owners the ability to enhance protection for critical infrastructures without sacrificing the aesthetics and architectural integration expected from modern designs.”
This protective system is particularly valuable for K-12 schools, police stations, public safety facilities, emergency response centers, government buildings and other critical infrastructures where storm-shelter requirements may intersect with broader physical-security objectives for public safety.
Beyond storm and ballistic performance, the USAW 650 FEMA Window system has undergone independent testing for air infiltration and exfiltration, water penetration and thermal performance.
The new FEMA-tested product line will debut this week at the Global Security Exchange (GSX), September 14–16 in Atlanta, at Booth #3640. It will also be featured at GlassBuild America in Las Vegas at the Innovation Lounge (IA-14) and Booth #4026.
